Billboard Design

A billboard gets five seconds and no second chance. We design out-of-home that reads at 60 mph: one idea, huge type, a visual that lands from across the street. Static boards, digital loops, transit, and the big event builds, all from the same team that knows your brand.

What we produce

Every out-of-home surface, from a highway board to a digital loop, from one team.

01

Highway and roadside

The classic 14 by 48. Six words or fewer, type you can read from a moving car, and a layout that survives sun glare and a dirty windshield.

02

Digital OOH loops

Animated boards for digital placements. We design the loop, time the frames to the dwell, and deliver to the operator's exact pixel specs.

03

Transit and street level

Bus shelters, station domination, wild postings. Closer viewing distance, longer dwell, so the layout can carry one more beat than a highway read.

04

Event and trade-show builds

Backdrops, booth graphics, and dimensional pieces designed in 3D before anything gets fabricated, so you see the build before you pay for it.

05

Murals and large format

Painted walls, building wraps, and lobby-scale graphics. Art directed for the architecture they live on, not just scaled up from the poster file.

06

Campaign systems

One idea that flexes across ten placements and three formats without falling apart. The board, the shelter, and the loop all read as one campaign.

Plus more, sized and proofed for the exact placement you booked.

A board that wins on a laptop can still lose on the highway.

Out-of-home fails quietly: the type was a size too small, the contrast died in daylight, the operator bounced the file for specs. None of that shows up in a mockup viewed at arm's length. So we design at real viewing distance, proof against the placement's actual specs, and hand over files the operator accepts the first time.

Freelancers A striking comp that reads beautifully at 100 percent zoom, and only there.
vs
Moonb Boards tested at glance distance and delivered to the operator's exact specs.
Legacy agency A campaign deck, a long timeline, and one board by the end of the quarter.
vs
Moonb Finished boards and loops going out weekly, at a cost you can predict.
Hiring in-house One great designer, right up until they take leave or move on.
vs
Moonb A team with a Creative Director on it, so nothing stalls when one person is out.

An out-of-home team that stays on your brand.

You get a dedicated group of designers who learn your brand and your placements, plus a Creative Director who owns the quality of what ships. Send the booking specs and the message. We come back with the board, the loop, and the production files the operator accepts the first time, on a steady weekly rhythm. When the next placement gets booked, you are talking to the people who already know how your brand reads at distance, not starting the brief over.

Why the hardest brief in design is six words tall

Everything a billboard has to do happens in about five seconds, at distance, to a person thinking about something else. There is no scroll, no sound, no second frame on the static ones. That compression is the whole craft: one message, ruthless type, a visual that still works when a truck covers half of it. Teams that live in feeds tend to design boards that read at arm's length. We design for the road.

Out-of-home We Design

From the highway to the lobby, drawn by the team that knows your brand.

  • Highway bulletins and posters
  • Digital OOH and animated loops
  • Bus shelters and transit
  • Station and airport domination
  • Event backdrops and booth builds
  • Murals and wall placements
  • Campaign systems across formats
  • Operator-spec production files

Designed for the glance

We test every board the way traffic will meet it: shrunk to a thumbnail, viewed for three seconds, then judged on what stuck. If the message needs a second look, the design goes back. That discipline is uncomfortable and it is exactly why the boards work.

If it needs a second look, it failed.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. We are the creative team. You book the placement, we design to it and deliver files to the operator's exact specs. If you have a media partner, we work to their spec sheet directly.

All the standard ones: bulletins, posters, junior posters, bus shelters, transit cards, station and airport formats, plus digital OOH at whatever pixel dimensions the operator runs. Send the spec sheet and we will match it.

Yes. We design the loop, hold each frame long enough to read at the placement's dwell time, and deliver in the operator's required format and duration. Motion is one of our core disciplines, so the loop gets the same care as the board.

We test at glance distance, not at desk distance. Every board gets checked as a thumbnail, timed to a few seconds of viewing, with contrast proofed for daylight. Word counts stay brutal. If it does not land in one glance, we redesign it.

Yes. Backdrops, booth graphics, and dimensional builds, modeled in 3D first so you can approve the actual structure before fabrication. We deliver the files your fabricator needs alongside the visual.

For a static board, usually within about 48 hours of a clear brief and the placement specs. Digital loops and event builds take a little longer. Either way, work moves on a steady weekly rhythm, revisions included.

That is the job we like most. We design the idea once, then build the system: highway read, shelter read, loop timing, all recognizably one campaign. New placements drop into the rules instead of starting a new project.
