What sizes are included?

The standard set: 16, 32, 48, and larger PNGs, a multi-size favicon.ico, and an apple touch icon.

Why do I need an ICO file at all?

Older browsers and some tooling still request favicon.ico by convention. The multi-size ICO covers them.

What makes a good favicon?

A simple, bold mark that survives 16 pixels. Wordmarks and detailed logos turn to mush, use the symbol alone.
