How to use it
- Drop a Lottie JSON or dotLottie file onto the viewer, or paste the JSON.
- Play, pause or drag the timeline to check any frame, and switch the background between Light, Dark and Transparent.
- Read the file details, and click a color to copy its hex code.
Frequently asked questions
JSON is the original Lottie format. A dotLottie file (.lottie) is a zipped version that can hold the animation and its images in one file, and it is usually much smaller. The viewer opens both.
Lottie players support most After Effects features, but not all of them. Some effects and blurs are dropped on export. Expressions are exported, but this viewer and the iOS and Android players do not run them, while the web player does. If your file shows a Uses expressions tag, check it where it will ship.
Embedded images are the usual cause, followed by long animations with many keyframes. The details panel shows both, so you can see where the weight comes from. Our Lottie editor can compress the rest.
