Frequently asked questions

How do I change the colors of a Lottie animation?

Drop the file in and the editor lists every color it uses. Click a color to replace it everywhere it appears, and the preview updates right away.

How much smaller can compression make my file?

It depends on the file. Rounding the numbers and removing names and metadata often shrinks a JSON file noticeably, and saving as dotLottie zips it on top. Embedded images are not recompressed.

Will editing break my animation?

Color, speed and trim changes keep the structure of the animation intact. Keep your original file until you have checked the new one in the Lottie viewer.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The editing happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
