Frequently asked questions
No. Each frame is stored as a picture inside the Lottie, so it looks exactly like your GIF, but it does not stay sharp when you scale it up and it is bigger than a vector file. For a logo or an icon, start from an SVG with our SVG to Lottie tool instead.
Use a smaller width, a lower frame rate and a shorter part. JPEG is the smallest for pictures with no see-through parts, and PNG keeps see-through parts. Repeated frames are merged for you. Aim for under 1 MB if it will load on a phone.
Lottie JSON works in every Lottie player. dotLottie is a zip with the pictures stored as real image files, so it is about a quarter smaller, and it works in the LottieFiles players and most apps. WebP pictures are the smallest, but use them for websites only, because some app players cannot show them.
